Dedeman is the success story of two romanian contractors who, since 1992, have been developing a chain of Do-It-Yourself department stores targeting those who preferred to build and decorate their homes without the aid of professionals.

Dedeman is one of the most dynamic companies in DIY retail. 8 years after opening the first DIY store with a surface larger than 5000 m², we have become a national leader enlisting 26 stores.

The Company’s expansion has been constant and swift. And besides numbers and computations, the most valued asset of the Dedeman business model has always been the people working here. The employees of the 26 stores form a family, a dynamic and a pragmatic family, always adjusting to the demands, plans and needs of our partners and customers.

In 1994 Dedeman had 11 employees. In 2002 there were 245 employees working for the retail network of construction materials and interior decorations. Today, over 5000 employees serve our customers, ‘dedicated to their plans’.

Upon visiting our stores, our customers can choose from a wide range of products: thermal installation items, bath products, electrical, sewage and gas related products, building materials, indoor decoration, instruments and accessories, tools and equipment, safety gear, garden items, furniture, electronics and household appliances. Our range of products is very diverse, with over 45,000 unique items coming from either national manufacturers or imported from France, Italy, Spain, Poland, Slovakia, Germany and China.
